Groggy Eyes: Fun, feminist and diverse children's books

Funny, diverse and colourful children’s books focused on feminism, the environment and science.

WORDS FROM GROGGY EYES

Groggy Eyes launched in April 2020 to publish funny, diverse, and colourful children’s books on the themes around feminism, atheist humanism, the environment, Science, diversity, and inclusiveness. Though these are serious themes, the focus is always on the fun element. The priority is to ensure that children enjoy these books.

Our books feature an elephant with a big bum who faces peer pressure from animals with petite bums but then learns body acceptance. An adventurous hippo who is bored of eating porridge and wants to travel the world to sample diverse cuisines like Biryani. A girl who revels in Science; a hyena who faces exclusion from other animals because his cackle makes him different; a lonely Panda who inspires a girl to fight for his environment; an isolated village in India where the villagers chant mumbo-jumbo to solve problems until they discover Science; a giraffe whose thunderous farts cause thunderstorms and who travels to drought-prone areas to bring rainfall by letting two or three go, and a hippo who is a budding feminist.
