Traditional concrete is responsible for 8% of global greenhouse gas emissions, primarily due to cement, which accounts for 85% of these emissions.
Otis lamps are made with a low-carbon binder; a byproduct of blast furnaces that yields better properties than traditional cement, by polluting 45 times less.
Every step of the design process follows the same principle: if it can be done in a less environmentally harmful way, that is how it must be done.
Our goal is to inspire designers to do the same, so as to become an industry that consumes waste, rather than creates it.
