Our aim is to offer a more soulful, sartorial, and sustainable approach to men’s swimwear.
Elegantly tailored and ethically sourced, our shorts perform perfectly in both the sea and the city.

OUR STORY

In 2009, friends Riz Smith and Ali Murrell decided that there was a need for something better in the men’s swimwear market. Riz had worked for many years designing swimwear for a number of global sports and fashion brands, and Ali had recently returned from sailing across the Pacific where he witnessed first hand the crisis of plastic pollution facing our oceans. Together, they set out to build a brand with the aim of creating 'The most beautiful and sustainable swim shorts in the world'.

Based in London, we embrace the paradox and opportunities of designing swimwear in a city by drawing on London’s rich heritage of Savile Row tailoring and gentleman ideals, and blending them with a summery disposition and the influence of international travel. It’s always summer somewhere, and we’re proud to go by the moniker ‘The Tailors of Sunshine’.

SUBSTANCE

We passionately believe in crafting swimwear with soul. All our shorts are made in Europe and in genuinely small batches. We do not mass produce! Every pair of our shorts is also digitally printed in the UK, allowing us to bring to life even the most intricate and colourful designs.

Shorts that are built to last are better for the environment, and are therefore more sustainable. Our shorts have substance. Whether triple stitching the shorts for durability, or packaging our products in recycled boxes, we are dedicated to delivering uncompromising craftsmanship and quality.

STYLE

We believe that true style lasts forever. Inspired by the idea of Savile Row for the Sea, our shorts have an 'old school' tailored feel and won't go out of style over night. At the same time, our use of the latest recycled fabrics and digital print techniques means our shorts maintain a contemporary edge.

We work with a small collective of hand selected artists and illustrators to come up with prints that convey our own unique 'British-Hawaiian style'. It is here we incorporate themes of endangered fish, flowers and insects that we hope will foster awareness and inspire appreciation for the natural world around us.

SUSTAINABILITY

Our oceans are littered with plastics. In an effort to do our part, every pair of our shorts are crafted from Eco-Friendly 100% recycled and recyclable fabric as well as being digitally printed in the UK using earth friendly inks.

What's more, our pioneering Rizcycle scheme allows you to return your old shorts in return for a discount off your next pair; focusing the entire product life into a perpetual 360 degree process.
