Emphasising the integration of the principles of yoga in everyday life.

WORDS FROM HAPPY STANCE:

HSYT believes in full engagement in the local community and has been a guest speaker for different events promoting physical and mental health and wellbeing from the USA, Germany, France and now, the UK. With over 30 years of experience in practising and teaching yoga, and holding the highest teaching accreditation with Yoga Alliance, we deliver classes and workshops to the schools, corporates, charities, athletes and specific patient groups, like cancer and stroke survivors.

We make a conscious effort to reach out to both the organisations who make policy decisions about youth, ageing population, people with disabilities as well as demonstrating the benefits of yoga to members of the community.

We want to start to offer classes to residential and care homes for the elderly as well as help people in the local community who cannot afford expensive yoga classes.
For all sorts of reasons, participation in physical activity for the elderly or those with reduced mobility is often limited. They are amongst the most vulnerable in society and we would like to offer them access to the benefits these activities provide, counteracting the devastating effects on the poor quality of life, especially when isolated, anxious and scared of losing the full range of physical functions.

The practice of our yoga therapy program has proved to help the elderly with fall prevention, body awareness, strength, flexibility, mobility, relaxation and improving balance while bringing the joy of engagement in activities, a better quality of life, and increased longevity.

Yoga and meditation are easy to follow and simple methods to improve our lives. Designing programs according to the specific needs of participants allowed us to transform the lives of thousands of people, helping them to deal with chronic pain, mental illness, addictions, neurological conditions and for some it was a helpful prevention method for staying fit.
Carol Clements, Bone Health Ambassador with the American National Osteoporosis Foundation and author of the New York Times best-selling book "Better Ballance For Life" endorsement: "I'm impressed with their ability to let go of predictable expectations and adapt yoga for optimal benefit--physical and mental--to unique groups and individuals.
