Shadeshares are polarized, UV-protecting sunglasses made of high-quality Finnish birch wood.
For every purchased pair of sunglasses, Shadeshares will plant a tree. Our sunglasses are handcrafted from environmentally sustainable materials, and the manufacturing chain is open and transparent. We know who works for us and we constantly make sure that they have proper working conditions.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to provide sunglasses with polarized, UV-protecting lenses. All sunglasses in our fashion collections are handcrafted of high-quality, environmentally sustainable materials.
A total of 30 % of the sunglasses’ sales price is directed to doing good for the world. Our international partner is World Vision.
20 % is channeled to support professional education and employment of young people living in Kenyan slums.
The remaining 10 % is donated to selected local charity organizations. In Finland, these include for example: FightBack ry, the Mannerheim League of Child Welfare’s Helpline for children and youth, HOPE ry, Icehearts, the Children and Youth Foundation’s initiative GLOW, The Finnish Association for Mental Health Sekasin 247 Chat and the Tampere Conservatory’s scholarship program.
Shadeshares trains and employs young people who come from the Kariobangi and Korogocho slums. We know who works for us and we constantly make sure that they have proper working conditions. The manufacturing chain is open and transparent.
One of our core values is also to become a zero-carbon footprint company and even beyond that. For every purchased pair of sunglasses, Shadeshares will plant a tree.
