The Basket Room creates beautiful collections of handwoven, decorative storage baskets for the home. Woven with stunning colours & unique patterns, we work with small craft collectives in Africa to bring you ethical, stylish accessories with a story.

Co-founded by Camilla and Holly, who met studying fashion design at art college, and came together in 2014 after gaining experience in design, production and retail to found The Basket Room. Holly started her ethical journey in fashion on a road trip from South Africa to Nairobi when her eyes were opened to another side of the industry. Camilla quit her fashion job in London to explore her dreams of sourcing intricate and locally crafted decorative products from this East African hub of creativity.

We work closely with small farming communities in Africa, who in times of drought turn to the art of weaving as a sustainable second income. By purchasing one of our baskets you help preserve this age-old tradition, passed down from grandmother to granddaughter.
